A Java 8 web framework with Ant builds, servlet-based request handling and an included generated polling-application sample.
Application structure
Applications configure WEB-INF/config.json, declare component actions and tables in component.json, supply Filter and Model classes, and map a servlet extending GeneletServlet. The compatibility contract describes constructor and routing expectations.
Runtime and source
The reviewed implementation uses javax.servlet and Java EE 7-era APIs. It is not a Jakarta namespace port. Its build inputs include repository-local third-party JARs; review their versions and licenses for your environment.
Build the framework JAR first, then the samples/tutojava WAR. The separate samples/javahelper directory illustrates a small command-line wrapper around the generator helpers.
Start with the right example
The historical polling tutorial assumes a prebuilt dist/Genelet.jar is already present. In the current repository dist is generated output; use the documented Ant build before following those historical steps.
